Elementary Scholar Bowl kicks off the season with a win against St. Joe Christian and tied North Nodaway! Way to go! Keep it up!

The Ag Science I students attended the Hundley-Whaley Youth Ag Science Day in Albany today! They learned about pollinators, calculating corn yields, identifying grasses, drones, and a few more. They also got to stick their hand in a cannulated cow!

The South Nodaway FFA Chapter is hosting a Blood Drive on September 11th from 12-4 PM. The time was pushed up to hopefully try to avoid the football game. We hope to see you there!

Anyone interested in the Robotics Team! Gerald and Dottie Nelson started this team over ten years ago. Team members have primarily come from local schools. South Nodaway and Jefferson have been the primary schools, but there have been students from other schools, such as Northeast Nodaway, in the past. The robotics team competes in the First Tech Challenge (FTC). https://www.firstinspires.org/programs/ftc/ There are over 190 teams in Missouri and Kansas that vy for a chance to attend the state competition at the end of the season. We finished 25th at state last year. Most of the teams come from large schools so we have made a good showing while competing against large schools. Each year, a new task is given for the robots. We will find out what this year's contest will consist of at a reveal event on Saturday, September 12th. We also hope to get several team members to Nelson's Garage (where we design and build our robot) on Thursday, September 10th so you can see a little about how the robot is designed and built. There is plenty more information to share.
